Why “Wise & Wild Psyche”?

When choosing a name for my counselling practice, I wanted something that truly reflected how I approach healing, self-discovery, and the therapeutic journey. Each word in Psyche Wise Wild speaks to a different facet of the work I do with clients—and together, they form the heart of my practice.

  • Psyche comes from the Greek word meaning both soul and mind. While these are often seen as separate in our culture, ancient traditions understood them as deeply connected. In therapy, I hold space for both—your emotional and intuitive depths, as well as your thoughts, patterns, and inner dialogue. Rather than separating logic from feeling or mind from spirit, we’ll hold all parts of you together, allowing for a more whole and compassionate understanding of yourself.

  • Wild comes from Old English, meaning free, self-willed, or untamed. In a world full of expectations about who we should be, I invite you to reconnect with your natural, authentic self—the parts of you that may have been hidden or silenced, but are still very much alive. This “wild” self holds power, creativity, and truth.

  • Wise is about seeing clearly and understanding deeply. I believe we all hold inner wisdom—even when we feel lost or disconnected from it. Therapy is about slowly uncovering that wisdom again, learning to trust yourself, and making space for clarity and compassion.

I believe there is wisdom in expressing the wildness within us: acknowledging both the “wise” and the “wild” within ourselves creates space for a counselling journey that blends inner insight with a liberated, intuitive, and creative exploration. This union of mind and life-force energy fosters a deeper connection to our true selves, allowing us to integrate rational and emotional understanding.

If you are someone who is drawn to introspection, feels a need to express yourself freely, and are seeking a path beyond conventional talk therapy—one that embraces body, mind and spirit with depth and authenticity—you may be in the right place.
